I am a retired 60+ year old woman who was married for 33 years 363 days. I have no children of my own, but I have two wonderful people that I emotionally adopted as my own who live in Washington State. I am the parent of Emily, a 12 year old, 15 pound cat, and Sam, a 10 year old, 25 pound Cockapoo.
I spent my career in banking, financial services, municipal government, and most recently as CFO for a upper level regional university that I helped create named Texas A&M University-Central Texas. I retired in 2017 with the title of Vice President Emeritus.
I have had personal experiences with family dying. My Dad died from cancer in 1992, my Mom died unexpectedly in 2018, and my husband died from COPD and dementia in 2019.
I have also listened to others stories about the loss of their loved one and things they were totally left in the dark about.
I have always been a planner, but how do you plan for a loved one who becomes deployed, incapacitated or dies? How do you plan for your life after death?
I felt called to write my book in an effort to help others plan for the reality they will face and items they can do ahead to time to make planning easier.
